Young Energy Savers (YES) is a fun and exciting new animation project that will raise awareness among children about energy consumption.

The two-year project, supported by the European Commission, is being led by animators, international environmental organisations and children from five European countries. It will result in the creation of a cutting-edge three-part animated film, which will be available to broadcasters from across the European Union (EU) and further afield for free distribution on terrestrial, satellite and digital networks.

Each eight-minute episode of the animation will cover issues from energy conservation, renewable energies and sustainable transport and will be produced in English and translated into several languages.

YES will enable groups of children to get hands-on experience of working with award-winning animators and environmental experts to create a project that is truly innovative.

The animation will also be accompanied by a dynamic teaching pack for use in schools across the EU. The teaching pack will be made available for free, giving pupils an opportunity to explore energy issues in more detail, and of course have a little fun too!
